Product Overview

Hengye supplies custom circular slitter knives for industrial rewinding and slitting machines. Material options include high speed steel, SKD11 tool steel and carbide, with the final specification selected according to the cutting duty and machine requirements.

Outside diameter, bore, thickness and cutting edge geometry can be customized according to approved drawings. Each material option is specified separately for the order.

Selecting the Material for Your Application

A replacement slitter knife should be selected based on the material being processed, cutting method, operating speed and existing blade performance.

When requesting a material change, describe whether the current knife experiences gradual edge wear, chipping or inconsistent cutting. This information helps assess the proposed material and edge configuration. A material change should also account for the machine’s alignment, blade support and maintenance requirements.

Where the existing knife performs satisfactorily, providing its material grade and drawing offers a useful starting point for a replacement specification.

Bore Fit and Cutting Geometry

The bore determines how the circular knife locates on the shaft or holder. Outside diameter and thickness must also match the cutting assembly, while the bevel profile establishes the working edge position.

For replacement orders, confirm these dimensions together. A used blade may have a smaller outside diameter or a modified edge after resharpening, so original drawing dimensions are preferable to measurements from a worn sample alone.

Any critical tolerances should be assigned to the relevant drawing features before manufacture.
